Marie Witt, Vice President

Marie Witt is the vice president for Penn’s Business Services Division, overseeing the division’s 19 departments, ranging from Penn Home Ownership to Housing to PennCard to the University Club, and providing the business leadership and services needed to maintain an efficient and productive campus environment. Marie was promoted to this position in February 2006 from her former role as associate vice president for Business Services. As associate vice president, she was responsible for many of the division’s operating units, including Housing and Conference Services, Dining, Off-Campus Living (now Off-Campus Services), the Faculty Club (now the University Club) and Penn Children's Center. Her other duties included overseeing all human resources activity for the division, including recruitment, retention and development. She also developed and implemented strategic business plans for the division’s key operations.

In 1985 Marie joined Business Services as a communications analyst for the Telecommunications department. She was named director of support services in 1991, overseeing Penn's Children Center, the Class of 1923 Ice Rink, Penntrex (student telecommunication services) and the Computer Connection. Marie served as interim vice president of the division from 1998 to 1999; and from 2005 to 2006.

Marie has served on several University committees, including the President’s Committee on the Agenda for Excellence on Organizations, Institutions, and Leadership, the Integrated Student Services Committee, the Human Resources Benefits Redesign Committee and the Trustees Social Responsibility Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the Eastern and National Association of College and University Business Officers.

Christopher Bradie, Ed.D,  Associate Vice President

Chris has a diverse set of experiences in administrative services especially those involving the institution’s revenue generating activities, operations management and corporate partnerships. Associated responsibilities include business development, strategic planning and organizational performance metrics as well as marketing and communications. Information technology, system support and software application development are also areas where he has both oversight and hands-on expertise.Image of Christopher Bradie

Academically, Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Wharton School as well as a Masters of Science in organizational dynamics and a Doctorate in higher education management, each from Penn. His research interests include exploring partnerships between higher education institutions and private corporations in providing services to college and university constituents.

Incremental to his core duties, Chris is involved in a number of current initiatives of broad University interest:  he serves as a member of Penn’s Committee on Manufacturer Responsibility and leads Penn’s efforts on licensed product development and distribution; he is actively involved in the planning and implementation of several e-business and web-application endeavors, particularly for student-life services; and he is co-founder and served as co-chair of Penn’s Information Technology Privacy Committee where he helped spearhead Penn’s efforts aimed at protecting the personal data and privacy of individuals for Penn’s campus community through systems and policies.
